Communications Specialist
Raven Frederick serves as Communications Specialist at Operation Restoration, where she leads the organization’s Communications Department, overseeing strategic storytelling, digital engagement, brand development, media relations, and communications initiatives that amplify the organization’s mission and impact across Louisiana and beyond.
A proud cum laude graduate of Dillard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a graduate of Southern University at New Orleans with a Master of Social Work, Raven brings more than a decade of experience in public relations, digital media, public engagement, and communications strategy.
Raven made history as the first Digital and Social Media Director for the Administration of LaToya Cantrell and for the City of New Orleans. She currently serves as Digital Communications Director and Special Assistant to the Mayor, overseeing the city’s digital strategy and communications initiatives while serving as a liaison to Dillard University, the Office of Cultural Economy, and the Office of Youth and Families.
Throughout her career, Raven has led communications and brand growth for more than 15 social and digital platforms and has spearheaded innovative public engagement initiatives, including a first-of-its-kind influencer campaign for the City of New Orleans that connected with creators representing a collective reach of more than one billion followers. She also launched and curated the official Office of the Mayor podcast, helping expand accessibility and community-centered communication.
A 2025 Dillard University 40 Under 40 Honoree and 2023 NOLA Tech 30 Honoree, Raven is recognized as one of New Orleans’ leading voices in digital communications and civic engagement. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and remains committed to using communications as a tool to inform, inspire, and empower communities.
