Operation Girls is a mentorship-based program designed to support girls ages 11 to 17 who are directly or indirectly impacted by incarceration. We offer mentorship, academic support, advocacy, financial literacy classes and other opportunities to support young women develop leadership skills that will help them thrive. OR understands the unique challenges they may face, and we believe every girl deserves the tools, confidence, and community to thrive.

Participants can also gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience through The Lux Laboratory, a youth-led entrepreneurial initiative created in collaboration with JLaRue Cosmetics. Through JLaRue Cosmetic, our girls have the opportunity to create candles, lip glosses and perfumes while learning essential skills in business, branding and financial literacy. Every purchase directly supports our young women as they build pathways to economic empowerment. 

WHAT WE OFFER

  • SAFE & AFFIRMING SPACES

    Girls are encouraged to show up as their full selves in supportive environments that prioritize trust, healing, and peer connection.

  • COUNSELING SERVICES

    Participants have access to individual and group counseling to address personal, emotional, and familial challenges with licensed professionals.

  • FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

    Through Operation Restoration’s Rapid Response Fund, participants and their families may receive direct financial support to help address urgent needs and reduce barriers to stability.

  • EXPOSURE AND OPPORTUNITIES

    Girls participate in educational and cultural experiences such as college and university visits, museum trips, and community excursions designed to broaden their horizons.

  • EMPOWERMENT AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

    Participants engage in teen empowerment programs, STEM conferences, workshops, health and wellness classes, and leadership training to prepare for future success.

  • Group Mentoring

    Dive into topics like financial literacy, positive self-identity, drug awareness, reproductive health and more.
