Trashanda Grayes-Butler

Dr. Trashanda Grayes-Butler serves as the Social Services Administration Specialist at Operation Restoration. She manages all social services provided by Operation Restoration and supervises staff, interns and volunteers working with the department.
Trashanda has a strong, natural desire to educate, having previously served as the director of education with the Youth Empowerment Project. Combined with over 10 years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, she has also served as the director of the victim/witness division with the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office and the executive director of the New Orleans Family Justice Center. Her skillset primarily includes management, research, strategic planning, and training and leadership development.
Dr. Grayes-Butler is a New Orleans native and proud two-time graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, where she received a bachelor of science degree in psychology, and a master of arts degree in curriculum and instruction. After earning her first master's, she moved to San Diego and graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, where she received a second master’s degree in psychology, as well as a doctorate degree in psychology, with an emphasis on human behavior.
She considers herself a trauma-informed service provider with a deep passion for empowering women to “stop surviving and start thriving.” She’s excited and focused on creating pathways of hope and opportunity for women impacted by incarceration by equipping them with the tools and education needed to envision and build brighter futures.
