MAGGIE SMART
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO SENIOR ADVISORS
Maggie Smart serves as the Executive Assistant of Operation Restoration. She assists with the organization and upkeep of the team by working closely with Senior Advisor of Quality Care Montrell Carmouche.
Smart previously interned at the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice Coordination, which introduced her to the combined efforts for criminal justice reform in New Orleans. In this position, she helped complete a Reentry Resource Guide designed to introduce individuals re-entering free society to the various organizations within the city that provide needed aid. She also previously held an internship with the City of Gainesville (FL) and canvassed for numerous grassroots campaigns in New Orleans throughout recent years. While born and raised outside of Raleigh, North Carolina, Smart recently graduated from Tulane University, receiving a bachelor of arts in political economy with minors in public health and philosophy. Smart plans to attend law school in the near future.
Maggie is passionate about promoting justice, equity and inclusivity within her communities. By using the knowledge and resources available to her, she hopes to make an impact by providing aid and advocacy for others. She is excited to work with the passionate and engaging team at Operation Restoration and looks forward to growing more as a changemaker.
