LETTER FROM OUR CEO: “Honoring Women. Continuing the Work.”

As Women’s History Month ends, it’s clear that women’s history isn’t behind us, it’s still being written. Women have always been at the center of justice movements; leading, organizing, and holding communities together. Too often without recognition or protection, and still, they persisted.

We see that same leadership reflected in the work we do every day.

At the same time, we’re paying close attention to policy decisions that directly impact women returning home, especially policies that limit access to housing, employment, and basic needs. This work isn’t just about support; it requires advocacy. That’s the responsibility we carry every day.

This month, we have provided more than 30 rapid response services, meeting the immediate needs that often become barriers to stability. Across our programs, we see what happens when women are intentionally resourced and supported, they become employed, they enter training programs, and they stabilize their lives and create new pathways forward.

As we look ahead, we turn our focus toward Second Chance Month in April. OR will host its first Second Chance Month Pop-Up, creating space for women who have recently returned home to access essential resources, supportive services, and practical tools for reentry. We will also host our 1st Annual Second Chance and Employment Resource Fair, connecting our community to employers, job opportunities, and critical support. These efforts reflect our commitment to helping women move forward and maintain momentum.

Women’s history is not only something we honor. It is something we carry forward. Together, we will continue showing up, standing in the work, and expanding access in ways that are real, tangible, and lasting.

In Solidarity,
