LETTER FROM OUR CEO: “Honoring the Legacy. Continuing the Work.”

As we move deeper into this new year, I am both reflecting and committed to true restoration. January invites us to remember where we come from, recommit to justice, and continue building systems that allow us to thrive.

In January we honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. which  reminded us that justice is lived — through action, accountability, and the way we show up for one another. As we reflect on this legacy, we also take time to honor women heroes whose bravery helped move justice forward. Claudette Colvin challenged injustice long before it was safe or celebrated to do so. Her legacy, and the legacies of so many others, remind us that courage often shows up early. How we support the next generation shapes the systems we build and the future we leave behind.

At Operation Restoration, that work is carried forward through our programs and, most powerfully, through the young women in our Operation Girls program. Their recent college acceptances and scholarships are not just personal milestones; they reflect what becomes possible when girls are supported, resourced, and believed in.

We are also stepping into this year with growth and expansion, including our move into a new office space. This new location reflects our ongoing responsibility to remain present, accessible, and grounded in the work. True restoration happens in real places, through real relationships, and we are proud to continue building alongside those we serve.

As always, I am deeply grateful for the support and trust that sustain this work. Together, we will continue honoring the legacy of those who came before us by doing what justice requires today.

In Solidarity,

Syrita Steib
